This license must be produced at point of hire.

The minimum age for renting a car in New Zealand is 21 years and motorists drive on the left hand side of the road and all vehicles are right hand drive.

Wearing seatbelts is mandatory.

Speed limits are set up to a maximum of 100 km/h (60mp/h) on open roads and 50 km/h in built up areas. Fuel prices vary but are generally around the $1.50c per litre mark for Unleaded and $1 per litre for diesel fuel.

It is illegal to drink and drive with the maximum blood alcohol limit set for drivers at .08.

It is not permitted to take rental cars off sealed roads but conditions vary between companies.
